The 2010 Chevrolet Impala seems to have been designed with the family in mind. The large sedan offers a suiting cabin that can fit up to 6 passengers comfortably, a large trunk space and a smooth ride. This benefit seems to overshadow the bland interior components that easily gives it the typical rental car feel and the shaky handling. However, even though it has some downfalls there are some things to be considered.
One thing to mention is that the SS model, which was directed to performance, has been subtracted from the new 2010 Impala line up. There is a less expensive 1LT trim that has been added to the Impala’s Convenience package. This trim has taken the place of the 2LT trim that has been discontinued. In the world of automotives, the Chevrolet Impala has been around for a long time. It has been in existence since the late 1950’s. It has also seen many changes. There is something to be said about a car model that can last that long through time. This can be a big plus as well as a huge negative. The plus side is that there are a lot of opportunities to find out what works and what don’t. The negative is that it may be hard to keep up with the aesthetic trends popping up.
This is where the 2010 Chevrolet Impala falls a little short. The aesthetics of the car makes it seem a little plain compared to its competition. It is as flashy or up to date as its competition and this could lend to a big decrease in sales to the younger generation. Even though it does meet the basic requirements needed by a driver such as a smooth ride, a large interior that offers a quiet ride, great ratings in the crash test department and a nice sized trunk, it just doesn’t stand up to the looks of its competition. In a lot of case the exterior of a car is what will attract a consumer. The blandness of the design and the lower end interior materials is what will slow down the consumers drive to purchase the car. Alongside the blandness of the design also comes the fact that the car only performs good enough to get it by. Thee aren’t any really great power behind the engine or any other performance qualities that are worth boasting. In comparison to the Hyundai Azera and the Toyota Avalon, the 2010 Chevrolet Impala doesn’t have the luxurious designs that come standard with both of these models. Even in comparison to the Ford Taurus, the 2010 Chevrolet Impala doesn’t hold up. The Ford Taurus has a story of a car that has been around for a long time but has found the ability to stay up with the trends. This ability can be seen in its modern interior and newer technology. Even though it falls behind in the competition, the 2010 Chevy Impala obviously still serves it purpose as it has lasted this long. It has a five-decade track record and that should have something to say about its reliability. For many people aesthetics and super drive may not be all that matters. There is always someone who has a need for a car that doesn’t present continuous problems. If that is the case the 2010 Chevrolet Impala has every quality to fill those shoes.
