Specifications
The 2010 Toyota Tacoma isn’t that different from last years model. There is still the option of choosing from three different cab styles. You can choose the regular cab, the extended access cab, or the double cab. The regular cab gives you the option of choosing bucket seats or a three-passenger bench. The extended access cab and the double cab give you both seating options in one. You get bucket seats in the front and the three-person bench in the back. The extended access cab also comes with rear-hinged doors. The double cab comes with four conventional side doors.
While the 2010 Toyota Tacoma offers you the options to choose your cab their really isn’t much changeability in the bed length. The cab you choose determines the length of the bed of the truck. The regular and access cabs come with a 6-foot long cargo bed. However, the double cab can come with a 5-foot long bed or a 6-foot long bed. All of the beds are lined with a plastic liner that is dent-resistant. Another great option the 2010 Toyota Tacoma offers is the engine. You can choose from a 159-hp 2.7-liter 4-cylinder engine. You can choose the 5-speed manual or you can choose the 4-speed automatic transmission. The other engine option is the 236-hp 4.0-liter V6. With this engine you can choose the 5-speed manual or the 5-speed automatic.
The 2010 Toyota Tacoma also offers a rear-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive option. This option will give you great advantage if you are an off-roader, because of the low-range gear. The 2010 Toyota Tacoma has a maximum 6500 lb. towing capacity as well. Alongside its performing features, the 2010 Toyota Tacoma also has some safety features that are worth mentioning. There’s the ABS, the antiskid system, the curtain side airbags, traction control and front airbags. If needed you can also choose to add the locking rear differential and hill descent and ascent control to your truck. You can also choose to add a sporty feel to your 2010 Toyota Tacoma by choosing the X-Runner model. This model has the access cab option and is equipped with a V6 engine, sport suspension, manual transmission and an added aero body trim.
The 2010 Toyota Tacoma has its advantages and disadvantages. They really shouldn’t be a deal breaker but it all depends on what you are looking for in a truck. The instrumental controls, controllable steering, great handling and quick acceleration add to the benefits of purchasing the 2010 Toyota Tacoma. However, the space allotted for your rear-seat passengers and the bumpy ride may take away some points. If you have seen and experienced the 2009 Toyota Tacoma then you have experienced the 2010 Toyota Tacoma. There really hasn’t been much change in the model, design or performance of the 2010 Toyota Tacoma. All in all the Toyota Tacoma isn’t too bad. It could strengthen a few things and add to its performance however; it still stands up to its competition. It is still a favorite amongst many people. The proof is in the sales. Therefore, the choice will solely depend on what you are looking for and just how bad you are willing to give a few things that the 2010 Toyota Tacoma may not offer.
