Coming out swinging and fresh from a thorough revision, the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado brings an entirely new arsenal to bear against top competitors Ford and Dodge. The new Silverado HD comes in many different trims featuring different cabs and bed lengths as well as different features. Customizing a new Silverado HD will not be difficult or extremely expensive. “Unleashed” on the world at the Chicago Auto Show, the Chevy Silverado Heavy Duty proves that the new GM has no intention of dropping its popular truck line in face of a greener, more fuel-efficient America.
Specifications
The 2011 Chevrolet Silverado HD shows off some serious improvements in engine capability and performance.

- Transmission: Six-speed automatic
- Warranty: Chevrolet’s standard bumper-to-bumper warranty is for 3-years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first.
Exterior Features
A new raised hood with revised Duramax/Allison badges are features to the new Silverado’s exterior. The Silverado features 17 and 18-inch alloy wheels and even 20-inch wheels are available on the 2500HD models.
Interior Features
Mobile WiFi, OnStar, USB, Bluetooth connectivity, XM satellite radio, touch-screen navigation, and a rearview camera are all options available to various trims and cabin designs. The Silverado’s customizable designs make for a truly unique experience depending on what you need it for.
Performance
The weight of the truck has gone up a bit thanks to GM taking the time to reinforce and strengthen most of the individual parts of the truck. The added strength of the truck is apparent in its performance capability and the ability of towing 17,600 pounds or caring 51,30 pounds in the bed.
Competition for the 2011 Chevy Silverado HD
Top competitors for the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado are the same as the competitors for the 2010 Silverado and includes:
- Toyota Tundra
- Nissan Titan
- GMC Sierra 2500 HD
- Ford F-250 Super Duty
- Dodge Ram 2500
The pack is seriously tight in this competition with no one truck standing head and cab above all the rest in an obvious nature.
