Review
The 2011 Toyota Tacoma has not even come out on the market officially yet, and it is already generating plenty of interest and enthusiasm. The latest model in Toyota's Tacoma line up promises to be as impressive as usual. The new Tacoma's specs, test drive information, under the hood specifications, interior features, and pros and cons are all considered in the following paragraphs.
Main Vehicle Specifications
The 2011 Toyota Tacoma comes priced with an official MSRP of $27,250. It features a 4.0 liter engine which is a V-6 variant possessing a mighty and more than sufficient two hundred and thirty-six horsepower. With a five speed automatic transmission featuring overdrive, this beauty is a four wheel drive truck with an ABS anti locking brakes and also comes standard with a drive line traction control and stability control feature. It gets a fairly impressive twenty miles per gallon on the highway and sixteen miles per gallon around town (16/21 city/highway MPG). The 2011 Tacoma sports a four by four double cab with a long box configuration.
Handling and Drive Control
The 2011 Toyota Tacoma handles much the same as the 2010 model did. Edmunds.com compliments the Toyota Tacoma, saying that the four wheel drive model features a nice, crisp handling, along with offering a well balanced quality ride. Naturally it has the phenomenal capabilities off road which are to be expected from the series. The TRD Offroad models are fantastic for rugged terrain. The X-Runner performs and drives very much like a sports car.
Engine and Drive Specifications
The new Tacoma's under the hood specifications are impressive for a truck. Its power train leaves little to be desired. With a two hundred and thirty-six horsepower engine when run at fifty-two hundred RPM's, it has plenty of power for a V-6 engine model. The engine contains twenty-four valves and provides a significant torque of two hundred and sixty-six pounds-feet when run at thirty-eight hundred RPM's. With a five speed automatic transmission and variable valve control, the vehicle provides a limited slip differential. A twenty-one gallon fuel tank makes sure that this monster with sequential multiple point fuel injections is constantly well supplied.
Interior Features
The 2011 Tacoma's interior features are comfortable and luxurious. The front seats are bucket styled with front center armrests. It seats five comfortably, and features split bench rear seats, along with a split folding rear seat. Naturally, Toyota outfits the vehicle with a variety of features, including a passenger vanity mirror, a tilt steering wheel, a telescoping steering wheel, power windows, and overhead console and passenger door bin, along with basic and anticipated amenities such as air conditioning and one touch down windows.
Pros and Cons of the Toyota Tacoma 2011
There are many pros to purchasing the Toyota Tacoma 2011 model truck. It is a powerful, well handling truck useful both on and off road. It has a generous amount of front headroom at more than forty inches, as well as ample legroom at nearly forty-two inches. The rear compartment head room is also fairly good, at thirty-eight and a half inches, along with decent rear legroom at thirty two and a half inches. On top of this, the truck is a fine hauler. Its towing capabilities range from thirty-five hundred to sixty-five hundred pounds.
The only real downside to the new Toyota Tacoma 2011 lies in its price. At $27, 250, this is not a cheap truck. It does not fit in just anyone's truck buying budget. This main downside is a result of the upsides of luxury, performance, and quality, all of which have to cost substantially more than some truck lovers can afford.
