Amica Company Review

JD Power & Associates has ranked Amica Insurance very highly over the last several years, beating out much larger companies with more clout and deeper pockets. This rating is based on customer input regarding claims payment, satisfaction, company stability and overall service. Amica Insurance company has been in continuous operation since 1907. Starting with farm equipment only, Amica now insures automobiles of all types, marine equipment such as boats and watercraft, motorcycles, RVs, home and life as well. The company has remained fairly small and tightly controlled during its growth in order to ensure expansion with its founder's vision of high customer satisfaction ratings at all times - it is a policy that seems to be paying off quite well. Amica's reviews from customers rate it across the board. The most common complaints for the company are that it does not seem to make payouts on claims in a timely manner at all. One other common complaint is the frequency with which, Amica will apparently cancel or renew your policy with extremely high rates for seemingly minor offenses such as having late payments or a few "fender benders." Nevertheless, the professional reviews and ratings for Amica make it a dark horse in the insurance industry that is worth watching. Amica insurance company has so far weathered the economic recession well, maintaining a AA rating from Standard & Poor's which gives the company the ability financially to pay their claims, leaving customers free from worry that the company will fold suddenly leaving them high and dry and without an insurance provider of any type. Amica offers insurance discounts to its customers based on good driving history, multiple policy insurance (such as insuring both your home and your car), and discounts for belonging to certain organizations. Amica has recently celebrated its 100 year anniversary and pledged to continue innovating and moving forward as a company as it always has - one customer at a time.

Rates

The rates that Amica Insurance charges for its policies seem consistent with industry norms - neither high or low. Customers can expect to be treated fairly and receive a price that won't completely drain their pocketbooks in order to receive a decent level of coverage. Amica's scale for providing insurance at higher levels of coverage is somewhat skewed on the high-end, however, and those clients who opt for more coverage than is typical may find themselves paying more than they would with another carrier. All things considered, Amica seems a solid company with a good foundation and concern for customer service. We give it an A.
