Audi to Build TT Clubsport?

Reportedly, Audi is continuing development on a show car that it launched last year. The TT Clubsport, as the concept was called, was essentially a TT Roadster that had been pared down with a smaller windscreen, no roof, and a bit of customized bodywork. The concept was a hit, and fans wanted to get in on the action. So if you’re an enthusiast of the Clubsport, start saving as it looks like Audi is going to produce it.

The idea of a high-performance TT dressed up as a speedster makes quite a bit of sense; the new TT has put the brand in a position that it’s never been before with strong sales of a highly popular niche product. While the production model probably won’t be as radical as the concept vehicle, from the units that have been spied testing, they look to sport different bumpers than the first concepts. The car will, however, feature the same sort of frameless, uncapped glass for the windows and windscreen as the concept.


With the introduction of the TT-S, Audi’s little coupe and roadster will now have the goods to compete with other high-ranking sports cars. But, sources suggest that the TT Clubsport could feature the exact same powertrain as the standard TT 2.0T, but with the boost and other components working overtime to create 300 horsepower. In addition, other clever features such as carbon ceramic brakes will become available, as will Audi’s S tronic dual-clutch gearbox. More information on the Clubsport will come as it’s announced.
