Chevy's Corvette has been in the news a lot lately. There’s that ethanol-powered Z06 pace car for the Indy 500, the associated production pace car replicas, and of course, the ZR1. The ball will continue rolling with a new limited edition Z06, the Corvette 427 Limited Edition, celebrating none other than the legend that is the Corvette Stingray.

The 427 Limited Edition builds on the amazing vehicle that is the Corvette Z06, which perhaps not coincidentally features a 427 cubic inch (7.0-liter) V8, just like the top-line Sting Ray. From there, the fiberglass bodied Corvette receives a coat of Crystal Red tint coat paint, including the door handles and rear spoiler (normally black on the Z06), plus a black stripe down its nose to replicate the stinger hood of the car it commemorates. Additionally, special 427 badges adorn its nose and body. The exterior is rounded out by a set of chrome-plated wheels that

are exclusive to the 427 Limited Edition.

Inside, the Z06’s leather-trimmed, titanium-colored bucket seats are embroidered with the 427 logo, as are the floor mats. The interior trim is also Crystal Red in color, for a little extra visual flair.

A total of 427 of these Corvettes will be built for US and Canadian consumption, with an additional 78 designated for export. Why 78? Add 427 and 78 together, and the total neatly comes to 505, the horsepower rating of the Z06.

Pricing for the car starts at $84,195, and for that money it's fully loaded with all options except for navigation, which runs $1,750.
