MetLife Insurance Company Review
Are you a current MetLife customer or thinking about becoming one? Don't make the leap until reading our detailed company review! Here we'll examine the auto insurance aspect of MetLife and find out how it stacks up to the competition!
Company Overview
As the name suggests, the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company was originally founded to provide life insurance. It is one of the oldest and largest insurance providers in the nation, having been created in 1868. Today, MetLife offers insurance in a number of different fields, from auto to home insurance. As far as auto insurance goes, the company offers its services in most states around the nation. In addition to just straightforward auto insurance, you can get insurance for your motorcycle, RV, boat, or even golf cart from MetLife. Compared to other companies, MetLife offers competitive insurance rates and a high level of customer satisfaction.
Advantages of MetLife
Like any good insurance provider, MetLife offers some unique benefits for its customers. For instance, drivers who maintain a safe driving record are often eligible for auto insurance discounts on their rates or deductibles. The company also provides discounts for people who purchase additional forms of insurance from MetLife, such as home or life insurance. There's even a comprehensive package, referred to as the "GrandProtect" policy, designed to cover all of your insurance needs with just one deductible. That means you can get coverage for home, auto, boat, motorcycle and more out of just one insurance policy.
Online
These days, we all appreciate the convenience of being able to acquire online car insurance. Like almost every other insurance provider, MetLife has an expansive website. The company makes it very easy to get a free auto insurance quote for their services through the website or over the phone. There seems to be at least some online account access for current MetLife customers as well. However, one glaring hole in the company's website appears to be the lack of an online claims service. Many websites allow their customers to submit accident claims online and have the entire process taken care of electronically. As of this writing, the MetLife website seems to only offer a 1-800 number to access the claims service.
Final Word
Obviously, MetLife has a lot going in its favor. The company has been doing business for well over a century and is clearly one of the best in the business. It offers numerous great benefits to its customers and seems to do so at a competitive rate. Of course, price is relative when it comes to auto insurance, as your own driving record could drive rates up or down. For online users, MetLife has a good website, but its lack of an online claims service is a little disappointing. Overall, we feel like MetLife would make a good choice for just about anyone looking for an auto insurance policy, especially if you can take advantage of discounted rates by purchasing home insurance with it.
