Nissan Considering Production of New Light Truck
Rumour Has It New 2-Ton Nissan Truck Coming
Nissan Motor Co. has been conversing with associate Nissan Diesel Motor Co. in regards to collaboratively producing light trucks. Discussions started to take place after negotiations with Isuzu Motors Ltd. fell through.
Renault SA and Nissan both own 22.5% of the financially unstable Nissan Diesel. Renault also owns 44% of Nissan.
Carlos Ghosn, Nissan Motor Co. President, did not confirm rumors from local press reports that the joint venture would produce a 2-ton truck that meets strict diesel emissions regulation that will be introduced by 2005.
