Suzuki Dealers Await New Midsize Verona Sedan

Aggressive Pricing Should Make Verona Popular

American Suzuki Motor Corp., that recently unveiled its all-new GM Daewoo Auto & Technology made midsize Verona sedan at the New York International Auto Show, has given the entry-level S model a competitive base price $16,499.

The mid-level LX will be $17,799, while the top-tier EX still slides in under $20,000 with destination charge included, at $19,499 for the car and $500 for freight.

Although made in Korea, the midsize Suzuki offers an upscale interior, with superb interior materials quality and higher than average fit and finish. Its also the largest car ever offered by Suzuki, a brand known for its subcompact and compact cars, as well as its respected line of compact SUVs.

The first batch of 300 Veronas were shipped the U.S. earlier this month, and are slated to be available for sale by mid to late August. With the expectation of selling 25,000 Veronas annually, 300 is a very small initial order.

By next year a second GM Daewoo car will become available on this side of the Pacific. The compact Forenza also offers an impressively finished interior and stylish sheetmetal.
