VW to Produce Long Wheelbase Phaeton

More Room and Additional Features Spice Up VWs Top-Tier Luxury Car

As if it werent big enough as it is, Volkswagen has stretched out its new full-size Phaeton luxury car, aptly named the Phaeton Long Wheelbase.

Designed specifically for those who ride in back instead of the driver, the sole purpose of this car is to grant additional legroom to rear passengers. To this end the cars wheelbase has been stretched by 4.7 inches - from 113.4 to 118.1 inches in total.

In keeping with rival stretched luxury models, the Phaeton Long Wheelbase features a more lavish equipment range. In addition to all standard and optional Phaeton features, the new limo model can be had with Vienna leather, a sliding glass rear-mounted roof, sunshades for the rear and rear-side windows, plus a separate rear control unit for the HVAC/audio systems.

This rendition of the Phaeton can be had with VWs new V8 and W12 gasoline engines or torquey V10 TDI diesel.
